Texas Irrigation Expo 2010 Science Fair

SCIENCE CONTEST FOR WATER CONSERVATION
Junior high and high chool students across the Rio Grande Valley are invited to participate in a science contest focused on water conservation. The contest is being held in conjunction with the Texas Irrigation Expo, which is being coordinated by the Harlingen Irrigation District through a grant from the Texas Water Development Board.
Water is essential to human life. Without it, nothing can grow, including plants, animals, people, businesses, and our economy. YOU can make a difference in the future of Texas by exploring scientific issues surrounding water conservation.

General Rules
Individuals and teams of 2 to 4 students may participate.
Projects must be complete by September 30, 2010.
Displays must be set up at the Rio Grande Livestock Show Grounds on Wednesday, October 20, 2010.
Judging begins at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010,
with winners announced at 5:00 p.m. that day.

Cash Prizes
The top 5 finalists in both categories (team and individual) will be recognized. Cash prizes of $500 to $1500 will be awarded for the top 3 winners in both categories.
